Our work is minimalist, yet richly detailed and finished in a distinctive colour palette.
Stefan Scholten (1972) and Carole Baijings (1973) have been designing together since 2000. They fill their own niche within the world of Dutch product design. Their work is minimalistic while being richly detailed and expressive, thanks to its skilful finishing and their well-considered and powerful palate of colours.
Just like Pastoe, Scholten & Baijings make use of grids, light fall and graphic surface divisions. Thanks to their clear attention to craft and tradition, a good balance between design and functionality is achieved.
The cabinet with sliding doors combines a subtle design with the opportunity to play with colour. Its clear design appears timeless, while the bold use of colours provides the cabinet with a contemporary look. This meant creating a clear design with an emphasis on surfaces and volumes. The body has been crafted from very thin materials and the handles have been recessed.
