This cabinet was produced by Pastoe in the middle of the fifties and an immediate success. The new bending technique that was used to shape the legs and drawers was a technological breakthrough. It was part of the new birch collection, inspired by the Scandinavian modern interior movement. Braakman used his international connections to make the major shift in the Pastoe portfolio, fitting for the new and optimistic post war period.
